INTEGRATIVE THERAPY
Finding Your Path to Healing & Growth
Guiding you toward healing, resilience, and self-discovery through life’s most challenging moments
Our Approach
Healing is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and Maureen Seifert’s approach is rooted in evidence-based modalities that emphasize the connection between mind, body, and spirit. By integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other organic therapies, Maureen provides a modern perspective on therapy to treat trauma and everyday challenges. Whether you’re seeking support for deep healing or navigating life’s transitions, she offers a compassionate space for growth and transformation.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
IFS & EMDR
Our Modalities
Discover transformative healing with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – two powerful therapy modalities designed to help you navigate trauma, emotional blocks, and inner conflicts. These approaches foster self-awareness, resilience, and emotional balance, allowing you to process past experiences and reconnect with your true self in a safe, supportive space for growth and healing.
IFS Therapy
A compassionate therapy that helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself, reducing inner conflict and building a strong sense of Self.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a transformative, evidence-based approach that invites you to explore and heal the many parts within yourself. Often, we experience inner conflict – parts of us may feel angry, sad, or fearful, while other parts strive to protect or avoid these emotions. IFS helps you understand these parts, their roles, and how they interact, fostering harmony and reducing emotional burdens. Through this process, you can build a deeper connection to your core Self, the wise, compassionate part of you that can lead your healing journey.
EMDR Therapy
A proven therapy for trauma and emotional distress, EMDR uses your brain’s natural healing process to bring relief and restore balance.
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a cutting-edge, evidence-based therapy designed to treat the effects of trauma and emotional distress. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses a structured process involving guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. This method helps your brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact and allowing you to move forward with greater clarity and calm. EMDR is particularly effective for conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and phobias, offering relief in fewer sessions than many other therapeutic modalities.

Other Pathways to Healing
I support those who are seeking to integrate their own journey work and other healing experiences outside of traditional therapy. Interested in learning more? I would love to share with you!
Meditation
A practice that fosters mindfulness, reduces stress, and enhances self-awareness, empowering you to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.
Some of my favorite resources:
-
Meditation is a powerful tool for regulating the nervous system, cultivating mindfulness, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being. A regular meditation practice improves sleep, memory, creativity, mental clarity and focus. It increases self compassion and builds greater sense of self-awareness, emotional regulation, and inner peace. Meditation complements traditional therapeutic approaches by fostering a deeper connection between mind, body and spirit.
Plant Medicine
A transformative approach using Kambo and psychedelic-assisted therapy to safely address trauma, depression, and mental health challenges.

Note: Psychedelic-assisted therapy is not currently legal in California. However, we offer support to those seeking integration of their own journey work or psychedelic experience.
Psychedelic-assisted therapy is an innovative and emerging approach to mental health treatment that utilizes substances like MDMA, ketamine, psilocybin, and ayahuasca in a guided therapeutic setting. These substances, when used responsibly and legally, can facilitate profound insights, emotional breakthroughs, and a deep sense of connection. This therapy is particularly effective for addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and end-of-life distress. While not suitable for everyone, psychedelic-assisted therapy offers hope and healing for those open to exploring its transformative potential.
Therapy might be right for you if…
You feel overwhelmed by daily stressors or the weight of the world’s challenges. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or the lingering effects of past or recent trauma. Maybe your relationships feel strained, or you’re stuck in a cycle where your best efforts never seem enough.
Trauma – whether a significant event (a "big T") or a series of smaller, cumulative experiences (a "little t") – can leave a lasting imprint on the mind and body. Negative life events are often stored deep in the brain, and when triggered, they can resurface as fear, sadness, shame, or self-doubt.
Unprocessed experiences can shape how we see ourselves and the world, influencing our relationships, behaviors, health, and well-being. Through therapy, we can untangle these patterns, heal old wounds, and rediscover balance, purpose, and happiness.

We believe that psychedelic-assisted therapy has the potential to be a transformative tool for healing when used in a safe, legal, and evidence-based context. Treatments involving substances like MDMA, ketamine, psilocybin, and ayahuasca can help address deep-seated trauma, depression, and other mental health challenges by creating unique opportunities for insight and emotional release. While these therapies are not a fit for everyone, we are passionate about their possibilities and provide resources and guidance for those interested in exploring them.
-
Finding the right therapist is an important decision, and we encourage you to take your time in making it. To help you determine if we’re a good match, we offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This is an opportunity to ask questions about your needs, our approach, and what to expect from therapy. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and supported, whether you choose to work with us or we refer you to another professional who aligns with your needs.
-
The duration of therapy varies based on your goals and personal progress. Some individuals may find resolution in a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. At the beginning of therapy, we will discuss your objectives and outline a flexible treatment plan tailored to your needs. Ultimately, therapy lasts as long as it feels beneficial to you. We are here to adjust the process as you grow and your goals evolve.
-
A standard therapy session lasts 50 minutes to an hour. Each session is a space for you to explore current challenges, work toward your goals, and reflect on connections between past experiences and present circumstances. We prioritize creating a collaborative, compassionate environment where your voice and needs guide the process. Whether you’re navigating immediate challenges or working on long-term growth, sessions are customized to meet you where you are.
-
EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or
completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.
-
Our brains have a natural way to recover from traumatic memories and events. This process involves communication between the amygdala (the alarm signal for stressful events), the hippocampus (which assists with learning, including memories about safety and danger), and the prefrontal cortex (which analyzes and controls behavior and emotion). While traumatic experiences can often be managed and resolved spontaneously, they may not be processed without help.
Stress responses are part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze instincts. When distress from a disturbing event remains, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions may create feelings of overwhelm, of being back in that moment, or of being “frozen in time.” EMDR therapy helps the brain process these memories and allows normal healing to resume. The experience is remembered, but the fight, flight, or freeze response from the original event is resolved.”
